Overview

The state of Texas requires teachers of record to be certified in the content area which they teach. The graduates of the Educator Preparation Programs (EPPEs) are typically eligible to apply for the Standard License upon meeting the program’s requirements. However, if the educator is still in the process of meeting some testing or other certification requirements, a one-year probationary certification may be issued.
For additional information about certification, please, consult the Texas Education Agency.
