Notes
Individuals with an earned graduate degree from a regionally accredited institution may be exempt from the Praxis Core Academic Skills exams requirement.

Applicants may take the Praxis Core Academic Skills for Educators or ACT or SAT.

Candidate may apply for the Level 1 professional license upon successful completion of all program requirements.

A PL3 is valid for one school year and may be renewed annually up to four years. The candidate must remain enrolled in the state-approved Master’s Degree Alternate Certification Program and fulfill a minimum of nine (9) semester hours of coursework per year (to the extent that required semester hours remain in the program to be completed).

Candidate may apply for the Level 1 professional license upon successful completion of all program requirements.

Notes:
PL 3 applications must be submitted to the
Department by the Louisiana employing school
system.
