Upon completion of all testing requirements (if needed) and one year successful employment, apply for the five year standard certificate.

All certificate holders must be in compliance with Oklahoma state income tax laws before a teaching certificate can be issued or renewed.

Notes:

All first-time credentialed Oklahoma teachers are required to have on file with the Oklahoma State Board of Education (OSBE) a current Oklahoma criminal history record from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) as well as a national fingerprint-based criminal history record provided by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Fee = $59

GENERAL NOTES FOR THIS ROUTE
Applicants with valid credentials from outside the U.S. are eligible for provisional certification in equivalent subject areas with the possibility of having to take Oklahoma tests.

Applicants will be issued a provisional certificate in order to complete the Oklahoma testing requirements (general education, subject area(s), and professional education competency examination). They will also be required to complete one year of successful employment in an Oklahoma accredited school, college or university.

Note: Applicants will not be issued a five year standard until all test requirements have been met and one year of successful employment has been completed and verified.
