To obtain an Educator Permit for Native Language, applicant must have written approval from Tribal Council Committee.

The permit is limited to speakers of the Arapahoe or Shoshoni Languages. Applicants must have approval of Tribal Council Committee

Applicant must be hired by a district to teach the Arapahoe or Shoshoni Language.

Minimum Academic Background
In most states, teachers must have a minimum academic background for certification.
The following is required for this route:

As of 2016, No Basic Skills Exams Required

College credits not required.

The only requirements are the following:
Written approval from the Tribal Council Committee
Written Verification of Employment from the employing school district (see supplemental forms section of the application)

Content Language and English Language Proficiency
In most states, teachers are required to submit evidence of content language proficiency and English language proficiency through coursework, exams, or degree evaluations.

Renewal: Renewable
Native Language Permits are valid for 2 years with unlimited renewals.

This form is submitted by applicant but page 16 must be completed by District official. Processing time is estimated at 6-8 weeks during summer months. It may be faster during the school year. Processing time is dependent on complete applications.
To request a Fingerprint Packet, please send an email with your Name, Phone Number and Mailing Address with the subject heading FINGERPRINT CARD REQUEST to the following email address: [email protected] .

Applicants MUST be fingerprinted in the state of WYOMING. Applicants can contact a local school district for a recommendation on where to be fingerprinted within your community.

Fingerprint Fee of $50.00 must be included with application.

Teacher must agree to terms of certification.
