Description

Teachers who have completed a traditional teacher-preparatory program in Kansas and met all of the testing requirements qualify for the Initial Teaching License. If the applicant has not met all of the testing requirements, they are issued a one-year temporary nonrenewable (TN) license. Initial license may be upgraded to a Professional License when the mentoring requirement is met. The required mentoring may be one or two years long depending on the requirements in place when the Initial License was issued.  The requirements necessary for advancing to a Professional license are printed on the Initial License.
