Certificate Reciprocity Approach (Out-Of-State) (GA)

Description

If an out-of-state certificate meets certain requirements, it is possible for a Georgia certificate to be granted based on interstate reciprocity. In order to qualify, an individual must hold a valid or expired certificate in a field that is comparable to one of Georgia’s certificate fields. Out-of-state educators may still have to meet some certification requirements specific to Georgia. The certificate must also meet be issued by another U.S. state, the District of Columbia, or other qualifying jurisdiction; and  be professional certificate based on completion of a state-approved educator preparation programat a ‘professional’ level. Temporary or provisional certificates do not meet the requirements for reciprocity.
