Adjunct Instructor Authorization (CO)

You need to login or register to save this route.

Description

This authorization is meant to fill specific district and school-based needs. An adjunct instructor is a specialist or expert in a content area not available through regular or alternative teacher preparation in an endorsable content area, and who is without formal training. The purpose of adjunct instruction is to provide students with highly specialized academic enrichment, outside of, and supportive of required content areas. For example, a French literature teacher is needed for an advanced placement high school class. Educator preparation programs do not have pathways for French literature, nor is there an endorsement in French literature. Individuals in situations such as these would qualify for an adjunct authorization. The authorization is issued upon school’s request only.
