A new pathway has been created in 2021 to allow individuals who possess a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education and an overall 2.5 GPA to complete coursework for receiving a Professional Teaching Certificate through a partnering organization. Individuals utilizing this pathway must fulfill requirements for coursework, testing and criminal history checks to qualify for a Professional Teaching Certificate. This option includes a requirement that individuals must successfully complete pedagogical training or a pedagogical course or courses in substantive alignment with nationally recognized pedagogical standards, or approved or established by the state board.
