For World Language educators who are native speakers of the language to be taught, the Native Language Teaching Authorization is available. To qualify the applicant should provide evidence that they are a foreign language native speaker, have evidence of an earned bachelor’s degree, a record of passing Praxis II content test in their native language, and an offer of a teaching position. The initial license issued is the Preliminary Native Language Teaching Authorization, which is valid for 3 years. The holder of the preliminary authorization can apply for the Native Language Teaching Authorization (valid for 5 years) upon completion of the required coursework.
