Description

Pennsylvania has 100+ colleges, universities, and providers that offer teacher education programs approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE). To qualify for a Level 1 certification, the prospective educator must complete an approved teacher training program and graduate with a bachelor’s degree, meet the student teaching requirement, and pass the content area testing. For evidence of proficiency in the area of certification in the World Languages, a valid score on an ETS language test or on an on the American Council for the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) OPI/OPIc and Written Language sections (administered by LTI) should be provided. When an ETS and LTI test exist for the same language, either test is accepted.
