Description
Professional teaching certificate is issued to an applicant who is new to the teaching profession or does not meet the requirements of an advanced teaching certificate. If the applicant has completed an educator preparation program from a South Dakota University, an approved South Dakota Indian Studies Course with a grade of C or higher, and has met state-designated pedagogy requirements based on the preparation program curriculum, they can apply for Professional Teaching Certificate using the Initial Educator Application.
