The Institute of Higher Education (IHE) Professor Experience pathway is suitable for college or university professors who have a Master’s or higher degree in the content area with two years of satisfactory teaching experience at the college level, and who wish to teach in a New York public school. While the candidate is working towards completing the testing requirements, they are issued a “Transitional G” certification. Upon meeting all of the requirements, the Initial Certification is issued.
