Educational requirements for a standard teacher certification include a bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited post-secondary institution, completion of an accredited or state-approved teacher preparation program, coursework or a passing assessment related to both the Arizona Constitution and the U.S. Constitution, two years of full-time teaching experience (may vary by certificate specialty), and passing a general professional knowledge exam and a subject exam related to the area of specialization, or an equivalent of appropriate work experience. Requirements for student teaching vary by certificate specialty.
